Why being anti-Russian is a mistake!

In the USA, we are proud of our multi-cultural society with citizens of every ethnicity, some family members speaking almost every language. Valuing all peoples equally, why allow ourselves to buy into anti–Russianism? Same for people from all “frowned upon nations du jour” now surely including China, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela. If you think, say, or believe something friendly or non-prejudicial about Russia, this does not make you a Russian agent, or stooge, or apologist. Play some Rachmaninoff before the ballet.

But post-war, our country adopted a harsh anti-Russian policy. We established NATO with other “Atlantic Rim” countries as a “Defensive Alliance” to protect against the “Soviet Threat.” What Soviet threat? The Soviet Union, with which we had been allies in both WW1 and WW2? In fact, the Soviets did by far the most to defeat Hitler’s Germany, including its war allies Austria, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Croatia, and Finland.

KEY FACT: During WW2, American arms makers got very rich on huge sales to our military, more so from lend-lease programs for allied militaries. Not wanting a giant gravy train to end, hand in glove with our highest USA decision makers (with the new CIA), they propagandized through media that the ally USSR was not a friend, but a foe. No motive given other than Socialist ideology/ form of government, even though that did not harm us or affect us at all. They vilified all post-war leaders, Krushchev, Brezhnev, Kosygin, Andropov, Chernenko, and Gorbachev. Consider this span of time, 42 years from 1949 to 1991, then the USSR breaks apart into 15 republics, with Russia being by far the largest.
Examine these 42 years. What hostile acts of war or attacks had the USSR done to America or NATO? Think hard, and Google-search if necessary. The answer is…nothing, nada, nechevo, rien, nicht, zippo. There never was any Soviet threat! Maligned allies all along, money wasted, opportunity for friendship squandered.

In 1991, the USSR broke up. Our “anti socialist” motive no longer exists (individual republics are now capitalist), yet our thought masters continue pushing the “big enemy threat,” naming capitalist Russia the “biggest” threat to the USA. Americans old enough will remember the “peace dividend” expected when the Cold War ended (1991), but sadly remember Senator John McCain announcing there could be no peace dividend, ala continued Russian threat we must gear up for, and spend even more on “Defense”!

Now our game was to try to influence the smaller ex-Soviet republics to become anti-Russian. And try to drive internal Russian dissent, hoping to break up Russia into smaller republics. Again, ask what acts of war or any attack Russia has done since 1991 against the USA, or against any EU country. The true answer, nothing, nada, nechevo, rien, nicht, zip. (Their warring with ex -Soviet republics Georgia and Ukraine for the deadly treatment of de facto Russians in those republics is protective/defensive for their internal diasporas). It’s untrue propaganda, pushing sales of American weapons, helping the American goal of Hegemony (to be the strongest power in the world, and keep other countries down).

In the 1990s, with Russia stumbling into capitalism (in economic recession/depression), finally, everyone figured out that Russia was no threat. Our USA uppers/CIA, etc., realized they needed a different “big enemy.” Enter the Muslim threat! And the USA began this, but at the same time had bad-mouthed Russian President Putin since their 2008 Georgia squabble. He eats babies, he murders journalists, he poisons ex-spies, he wrongly jails dissidents, he kidnaps children from Ukraine, and he invades peaceful countries without provocation! A closer investigation of each of these reveals different truths, which were never printed or announced in the West/USA mainstream.
