Ashleey Houston
She was Miss Continental Elite 2018, a former Miss Galveston Pride, and a former Miss Houston Pride, just to name a few titles, and the current Miss Gay Universe 2024. She also manages to find time to own and operate a bar. She is Miss Ashleey Houston!
Club Morena’s opened about four months ago at 8031 Harrisburg Boulevard. Houston, with Cuban and Mexican American Latina heritage, saw her mother Janey manage bars as well as her trans mother Viviana, of Viviana’s Nite Club, one of Houston’s (the city) long time legendary drag/Latino bars.
Club Morena’s, “where everyone is welcome,” is off to a fast start and features drag shows, pool and dancing, and holds benefits for community charities. In June, the bar and its cast of performers raised funds for PWA Holiday Charities.
The July Montrose Star Spotlight shines on Ashleey Houston.

I have been in the art of female impersonation for 39 years.
Favorite thing about drag/entertaining?
My favorite thing about performing and drag is feeling the love of a crowd.
What is your favorite number/and or celebrity to perform?
I really love to perform oldies, but goodies ’cause the words and lyrics mean a lot to me.
Who is your inspiration?
My inspiration was my mother, Janey, who is now passed on but still inspires me to this day.
An interesting fact:
I am a realistic person regarding anything I do in my life or for anyone else.
When not on stage what do you do for fun?
I attend to my bar and spend time with my husband, family, and friends. I love playing card games and watching movies.
Where can we catch your act?
My performances can be caught all around the Houston and Texas areas. I am an international entertainer so there’s no telling where I can be, at times even in my own bar.
