Drag Queens have become easy targets of politicians on the right, being portrayed as predators coming for your children. Groomers. What they fail to see is the difference the Queens in our
community have made with their generosity, the joy they bring and the countless hours they spend
performing acts of charity.
During the early days of the AIDS crisis, countless lives were saved because of the funds raised for AIDS
charities by Drag Queens. That selfless devotion to helping others continues to this day. Need a fundraiser because someone has extensive medical bills? Need to
raise funds for a friend who lost everything in a fire?
Have funeral expenses for a loved one? Drag Queens will be there to put on a show.
With hearts as big as their Texas-sized hair, fundraising for charities comes naturally for Drag Queens. Regina Dane, over the course of her career, has raised so many funds for charities that she has been recognized both locally and nationally for her efforts.
