Players presents West Side Storybased on a conception by Jerome Robbins with book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. “Say it loud and there’s music playing. Say it soft and it’s almost like praying.†There is no more recognizable love tragedy than Romeo and Juliet. West Side Storytakes that tale and sets it in the upper west side of Manhattan in the mid 1950s.
