Happy Weedsday to all of you beautiful people!
Just wow! The Walk4Change event that took place on December 9, 2019, in Houston at the Midtown Bar and Grill was quite a success!
Many thanks to Tommy. I also want to thank my good friend Michael Green (AKA the Hemp Hippie 420) who single-handedly helped me keep my sanity through the planning of this awesome event. It may not have happened without him.
It turned out to be an inspiring evening of education and music and the coming together of like minds. I wanted to express my gratitude to all of you!
We had the pleasure of hearing quite a few testimonies from several speakers of how cannabis has changed their lives for the better. I would like to thank all of them for participating and moving this movement forward by their words and activism.
I would like to thank Pastors Helen and Peter Yeaple of The Human Solution International and Walk4Change for being the highlight of the night by explaining how we all can come together and make the world a better place for us all.
I would like to also thank Cannabis Open Carry Walks and Candis Dyer of Canna Corner for interviewing me about why I support cannabis. It was quite an experience.
The night wouldn’t have been complete if we had no one to speak on behalf of our veterans out there who are suffering, but Andy Melder held it down for us and I thank him for all of his activism and education to others about how cannabis can help those suffering with PTSD and other ailments.
Additionally, to founder/owner of Mountain High 10 and a veteran, Mike Ung, thank you for speaking on behalf of veterans everywhere. Thank you for bringing your “A-Game†performance although you spent the whole day on the bus before getting to Houston. If you don’t know what the Sarge is about, find out. He knows that veteran support and advocacy are so very important and I know he makes it a top priority.
Last but surely not least, I want to thank Adelina Sanchez of Leafly Therapy here in Houston. She shared with all of us what CBD can do for the skin through massage therapy and I know I am going to find her and get one of those massages!
The music scene was pretty badass too with DJ Cee Why at the helm. We had a few of my favorite local artists from here in Houston. A huge thank you goes to Dumb Blonde Rapper of Houston for performing “Realistic Nightmare†which addresses depression and self-worth. She is an amazing and gritty performer because she brings realism to her music.
Houston’s YStackz, originally hailing from Florida, was also there to perform and support the Walk4Change movement. He put on an awesome show, like always. If you’re in or around Houston, check him out. He’s got some fire!
Another Houston friend, Jhaime Sinatra also came out to support. A really big shout-out to Jhaime. He is always a fun performer with amazing energy! Make sure to look him up and check him out.
Also hailing from Houston were my friends at Rebel Radio, Christopher Farrell and guest drummer Bobby James, providing some reggae twists to the lineup. Y’all did an awesome job, and I thank you.
And I want to thank Houston’s own Mista Mathew and Laylow Martinez for putting on a hell of a show for all of us! Goodness knows cannabis activism also happens through music.
To be honest, I was off-my-chair ecstatic when I found out that my friends and fellow coworkers from MHX Colorado were trekking all the way down from Colorado to perform and network with us here. My lady, Lots of Locs is an amazing and raw artist and I love her for her unique style.
And let’s not forget the Sarge! I know I mentioned earlier that he rode a bus for almost 24 hours and the bus broke down on the way. Man, thank you for having the energy to make us all rock out. You were amazing.
I want to thank the beautiful Sabrina Starkes AKA Sabrina the Model for making a guest appearance in support of the movement, as well.
I feel honored to know all of you in the capacity of us all knowing cannabis is not the demonized plant that others would lead us to believe it is. I will forever remember this night as it was very special to my heart. It was a growing experience!
I had never planned an event quite like this and all of you that came out to support cannabis education with me made it worth every moment of anxiety and apprehension.
Thank goodness for cannabis! #OneLove
