Pups and handlers from across Texas, the United States, and even Canada descended upon Galveston Island last month for the first annual Pup Weekend. The three-day event held May 17 through 19 was an enormous success, according to organizer Terry Fuller-Waymire and Pride Galveston.
“The event for its first year was amazing and the love and support was just amazing,” Fuller-Waymire told MONTROSE STAR. Island Time Beach Bar and Grill, Robert’s Lafitte, and East Beach were the venues that played host to various events held over the weekend.
Razer Wulf from Austin won the title of Gulf Coast Pup 2024.
No party in Galveston is complete without someone getting wet. The beach party on Saturday and pool party on Sunday were packed with pups, handlers, leather enthusiasts, and friends.
Presenting sponsor Sir Rat was on hand all weekend offering pup gear as well as offerings for the leather and kink community.
“As the dust settles, we are already reflecting and seeing how we can improve and make it better. We know the first event is always the one to learn from and work out the kinks and issues to make next year’s event better. We aimed to create an event for pups, critters and pets, and our allies to have a fun-filled weekend and create a safe place for all to be themselves. I could not say thank you enough to everyone involved plus those who came. I’m so full of love and pride by what we were able to create,” says Fuller-Waymire.
